OCU Secure Overhead Line Framework Contract

We are delighted to announce that O’Connor Utilities have been
awarded the North Wales Clywd area for the Scottish Power Energy
Networks Framework Agreement for the Distribution Overhead Line
Works up to 33kV.
This has a contract value of £5m annually to O’Connor Utilities Limited.
O’Connor Utilities are due to start work on this contract 1st October 2015 and is due to run until 2019. This is an exciting opportunity for O’Connor Utilities and strengthens our position in North Wales with a very important Client.
Coupled with the experience gained by our OHL works and associated with our existing cabling frameworks in NPG and numerous EHV cabling projects, we look forward to ensuring that safety and quality is core to our delivery philosophy in the OHL environment for SPEN.
Our operational depot in North Wales, Deeside provides the support base for this framework contract and with the existing SPEN framework contracts this additional work stream compliments the delivery.
Employing up to 30 staff, from engineers, linesmen and supervisors, OCU will undertake 11/33 kV rebuilds, 11/33kV new construction, 11/33kV refurbishment, LV modernisation, hazard removal at all voltages, minor OHL works, emergency response and also provide an extension to the existing SPEN workforce.
This is another great contract which has been secured by OCU in a key strategic area and linking our existing underground works with SPEN and strengthening our working relationship
